The Role

The main purpose of this role is to support the Buyer with the development and sourcing of the product range to ensure that it meets the requirements of the Category strategy and delivers the budgeted KPIs. The role requires strong organizational skills, good commercial acumen, high attention to detail and the ability to negotiate with suppliers. The Assistant Buyer will work closely with the Buyer and support them with the development of Range Plans for their designated area and will own, develop and source an element of the range. The role entails frequent contact at all levels within and outside of the organization and therefore requires good communication and influencing skills.

  • Help the Buyer source and implement the range in accordance with the requirements of the Category Strategy
  • Provide market and competitor analysis to help the Buyer deliver market leading ranges and promotions
  • Development, sourcing, negotiation and management of their own range
  • Day to day management of store communication esp Fuse
  • Support the Buyer as required
  • Support the Stock Planning Team with stock supply and supply chain issues
  • Support the merchandising team with the development of sales and promotional plans
  • Highly numerate
