Role Purpose

To help our Customers to buy the flooring that best suits their needs by bringing the store experience to them in their home

Role Summary

Using a fully sampled and liveried Carpetright van, you will visit our Customers in their homes to help them to make their flooring choice. 

 

Using samples, you will advise on design, colour, suitability and durability as well as taking all the measurements to ensure a hassle-free service

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Using the Company diary planning systems, you will be responsible for contacting the customer before you visit to ensure you are able to make the most of the time spent in the home.
  • In the event that there is a need to change the Customers appointment, you will be responsible for letting them know and making alternative arrangements
  • In order to ensure that you are able to offer choices to the Customer you will be responsible for managing the sample stocks on the van ensuring ranges are kept up to date and are presentable
  • Maintaining a top-notch knowledge of our products, prices, promotions and services is essential to delivering the best service to our Customers.  You will also need to keep an eye on what’s being offered by our competitors so that you can stay one step ahead.
  • As an on the road brand ambassador it is essential that you keep the Carpetright van in tip top condition including keeping it clean, presentable and on the road. 
  • Once in the Customers home you will be required to follow the Company’s sales journey to ensure that excellent service is delivered to every customer and that every lead opportunity is maximised
  • Using software provided by the Company you will produce accurate and detailed measurement plans in the customer’s home which will be used to determine the quantity of flooring required
  • In line with the customer’s needs, you will advise on the benefits of additional items or services
  • You will need to ensure that the store teams and the fitters understand the customer requirements to ensure a smooth ordering and fitting process. 
  • Completed plans & details of Customer requirements should be made available to the relevant store as soon as is practically possible after leaving the customer’s home.
  • You will need to maintain high standards in relation to your own appearance and conduct, particularly when in our customers’ homes

 

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Have a passion for people – naturally curious you will love meeting and getting to know new people
  • A real passion/flair for interior design and colour co-ordination – after all you will be helping customers make very important decisions
  • Enjoy putting the customer first at all times and have a passion for delivering excellent customer service
  • Provided you are comfortably using technology, we can train you to use the specific software
  • You will need to drive the van so a full UK driving license is essential
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Can work independently and can manage your time effectively
  • Are flexible and willing to work evenings and weekends - you will need to be able to work to a flexible working pattern throughout the week which will include evenings and weekends
