The Role

This role is for a fixed term of 6 months.

Role Purpose:

Purchasing Hard Flooring stock in-line with target cover levels whilst maximizing stock availability to customers and keeping held customer orders to a minimum.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Management of intake forecasts by supplier
  • Management of stock purchasing in line with the sales/intake forecasts
  • Ensuring optimum levels of warehouse stock to minimise write-offs and reduce cash tied-up in stock
  • Development of improved ways of working and engage with IT department to improve systems and processes
  • Communication with suppliers to maximise availability and ensure efficient stock flows
  • Communication of stock availability to stores
  • Ad-hoc analysis / reporting as required
  • Work closely with Merchandising Team to ensure excellent availability for promotional activity

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Highly analytical
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Able to work to dead-lines
  • Computer literate
  • Ideally, background in Merchandising or Stock Control
